MSG William J. Crawford

Master Sergeant William J. Crawford was awarded the Medal of Honor for his extraordinary heroism near Altavilla, Italy, on September 13, 1943, single-handedly destroying three enemy machine gun positions while under intense fire.

Post 7829 carries his name as a daily reminder that the most meaningful service is often done quietly, without recognition, for the benefit of others.

Why Nomadic

No hall by choice

Most VFW Posts gather in a fixed hall. Post 7829 made a different decision: we show up where the community already is — the pub, the Chamber, the parade route. This isn't a limitation. It's our strongest differentiator.

When we meet at The Pub in Palmer Lake, we're not hidden from the community. We are the community. Anyone who's served can find us, sit down next to us, and realize they're already among their people.
